New York Sail Collection

I created these four textile works for a luxury yacht based in New York during Fashion Week in September 2025. Following conversations with the designers about dimensions and colour, I produced three pieces measuring 115 × 86 cm and one measuring 215 × 86 cm. Together, they formed a backdrop for the show.

Remaining true to my philosophy of working with recycled and repurposed materials, I sourced genuine sails and boat fabrics from several chandlers, along with rope from a boating friend. Each piece remained individual while connecting as part of a larger installation.

Some fabrics were hand-dyed using Japanese Shibori techniques, and every piece was developed using hand embroidery. The works invited viewers to look through the rigging of a boat and imagine themselves aboard a vessel at sea, moving through different ocean states—from calm, sublime shallows to ripples and waves shaped by the wind.
