The Sail collection began as backdrops for a New York fashion show aboard a luxury yacht, and slowly over time has been evolving into a meditation on the sea, materials, and environmental care. Made from recycled fabrics — old sails, offcuts, and boat regalia — some pieces have hand-dyed using Japanese Shibori and embroidered with variations on Boro stitch, all contain the passion I have developed for being on the sea! Strong vertical and horizontal lines, though rarely centred, evoke the rigging and structure of a vessel, while layered colours ripple and shift like the ocean itself. Through process-led making, these works transform discarded textiles into vessels of reflection, bearing witness to fragile marine environments and our shared responsibility to the Blue Planet.
